The Shirelles band was started in Passaic, NJ in the late 50's by Shirley Owens (aka Shirley Alston), Doris Coley (also known as Doris Kenner-Jackson), Beverly Lee, and Addie "Micki" Harris. The group is famous for releasing such singles as "Tonight's the Night," "Baby It's You," "Dedicated to the One I Love," "Big John," "Foolish Little Girl," "I Met Him on a Sunday," etc. |
